Dennis was the youngest player in Bermuda football history, to win the Most Valuable Player Award twice before the age of 21. He was the first footballer in Bermuda to win the Sportsman of the Year Award and captained the Bermuda National Footbal (soccer) team at all age groups levels in international competition. He was a member of the senior national team at the age of 16 years old until retirement at the age of 28. He had trials in 1981 at Luton Town (UK) which was scheduled for two weeks but was extended for 8 weeks before gaining a knee injury and having to return to Bermuda.

Dennis is an icon in Bermuda’s footballing history by being one of only 5 coaches to have won the coveted “Triple Crown” Cups. The Triple Crown is the title awarded to a coach who wins three of the most prestigious competitions in one football calendar year.
